This cheesy, golden garlic bread is utterly irresistible — perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and ideal for mopping up every last drop of your favourite saucy pasta.
Ingredients
1 loaf bread of your choice (I like a ciabatta stick or baguette for crispy edges)
1 whole garlic bulb
50g butter
40g parmesan
Salt and Pepper to taste
Method
Step 1
Pre-heat oven to 220 C. Slice the top of your garlic bulb off. Put in foil, drizzle olive oil and sprinkle salt. Cover the whole bulb in foil. Put in oven for an initial 20-30 minutes, until the cloves are soft.
Step 2
Slice your bread in half. Grate parmesan if needed. Once the garlic has had the initial 20-30 minutes, open up the foil so the top is exposed and cook for another 15-25 minutes until golden.
Step 3
Put the butter into a bowl. Peel the garlic cloves out of the bulb (be careful they’re hot) and place on chopping board. Using the back of a knife, mush into a paste and then add the paste to the butter bowl with some salt and pepper. Combine until mixed through.
Step 4
Spread the garlic butter mixture onto the bread and then top with the parmesan. Put in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until your desired crisp-ness!
Then Enjoy!
